HETTICH INTRODUCES SILENT SYSTEM FOR OFFICE FURNITURE
Soft close technology makes offices quieter

Silent System for Systema Top 2000 drawers and pull-outs forms a single unit with the Stop Control housing. Pictured here is the cushioner with pull-out closed.
The luxurious feel of Silent System closure comes to Selekta hinges. Screwed to the door, it leaves the cabinet interior completely free.

Hettich introduces Silent System soft-close technology for office furniture.  To achieve this, it was necessary to modify the feeling of gentle, silent closure that's now familiar to kitchen and living-room furniture.  The rigorous demands places on office furniture require that drawers must close quickly within the work flow while making little noise.  Slow drawer closure in the office environment would unacceptably delay access to contents.

To keep office furniture from tipping over, an anti-tilt feature ensures that a drawer or pull-out is fully closed before another one can be opened.  To apply cushioned closure technology to the specific needs of office furniture, Hettich has combined Silent System with the self-closing feature for office pull-outs.  This has shortened the closing distance, thereby resulting in a movement that closes a drawer much more quickly than in applications for living-room furniture or kitchen cabinets.

Drawers and pull-outs still close in silence despite closing more quickly.  This noticeably reduces office noise levels and helps to create a pleasant work environment.

Hettich supplies the self-closing housing with pre-mounted soft-close elements so they can be fitted in the same way as conventional units without altering furniture design.

The luxurious feel of Silent System closure is also available for Selekta hinges.  The hinge cushioner is screwed to the door using a mounting plate, leaving the interior of office furniture completely free for fitting file cradles and wide drawers.

By tailoring Silent System to meet the specific needs of office furniture, Hettich highlights the system’s versatility which, not only makes the home a quieter place to live, but also creates pleasantly quiet office environments.
